The Royal Oak, located in Gillamoor on the edge of the North York Moors, is a delightful family owned 17th century country inn with eight en-suite bedrooms and a comfortable bar and restaurant.
Our front of house team, led by the general manager Margaret and assistant manager Lauren, pride themselves on their Yorkshire hospitality and the wellbeing of our guests is at the heart of everything they do.
Whether you’re here to take a break, explore the beautiful North York Moors, enjoy some great food and local ales, or simply catch up with friends over a drink, we offer a relaxing location to escape from it all.
Our cosy well-stocked bar with its roaring fire is a great place to stop for a drink. We offer a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including a range of fine local cask ales. Tea and coffee are also available.
We are popular with both cyclists and walkers and always pleased to welcome groups of both.
Dogs are welcome in our snug area and we also have a large outside area with plenty of benches to relax and enjoy the sun.
